Lenten Advice from Fr. Edward Leen

Several years ago, a sister in Christ gave me a treasure of a book called "In the Likeness of Christ".

It's an outstanding book for Lent, the Year of Mercy, reading in front of the Blessed Sacrament, on a train, at the beach. In other words, it's a great book!

In the introduction, he describes a mistake often made by those pursuing living our lives in the Likeness of Christ and our own personal sanctification. We often labor under the false notion that only certain elements of human existence, prayers, reception of Sacraments, charitable work and other religious acts are associated with sanctification.

Of course, we can do nothing without the above. It's the meat and potatoes of the fruit of our actions, but we often disconnect from this reservoir with every encounter and interaction.

I will often finish my prayer to go about my chores, and for example walk into my daughter's room -- and BABOOM, Carol take the wheel!

I will walk down a hallway and see a person coming who drives me crazy and my thoughts are 'oh bleep, here we go!', rather than instantly focus on how the encounter could be wrestled into sanctification.

"Few grasp the far-reaching significance of the well-known words of St. Paul, "Whether you eat or drink or whatever else you do, do all to the Glory of God". It is the life of man, as man, that grace sets out to sublimate and refine unto the refinement of God." It is through man's own life, taking in all its activities and passivities, in its thoughts, views, judgments, decisions, in its deliberate emotions and reactions; in it's outward activities as guided by his rational faculties; in all its willed contact with circumstances, with things, with men and with God; it is through and by means of all this that man is wrought to a better, to a divine form.

This is our fiat in its praxis.

A few quotes from various parts of the book:

"He (Christ) saw the highest good in the doing of a thing as His Father wanted it to be done--apart all together from the consequence, even if no successful issue were possible. To do things rightly, to act as God wanted Him to act, was the object of His life. Though He flung himself into His tasks with all the mighty energy of his superb nature, He yet stood strangely aloof from them. He undertook each task as if it were all-important, and yet He assigned that supreme importance, not to what it was in itself, but to the mere right execution of it."

"There is a peculiar evenness and balance of Our Lord's life. He is not more wonderful in act than in respose--in speech than in silence. In itself, especially with Our Lord, Whose nature was so perfect, there must needs be an immeasurable distance between the intrinsic value of a word fallen from His Lips and the same word withheld..All his greatness seems to be in the perfection with which He endured each succeeding circumstance--whether that demanded the putting forth of or the cessation from activity . "

"Those He healed were ungrateful, those He taught remained ignorant; and the hearts which he labored to soften and convert remained obdurate. Neither his eloquence or his kindness won for Him the loyalty of His people. The few who He did win to His side abandoned him in the crisis of His life. We miss the real pathos of Our Lord's life when we read the Gospel..."

Outstanding observations, theology and advice for working on the sanctification of our soul.

National Bioethics Center Corrects Pope's Theological Error on Contraception

I am thrilled they rose to the occasion and put fulfilling their Baptismal promises to Christ and the salvation of Christ's people ahead of the cult of coverup.

Meanwhile, things in Rome are heating up. According to trustworthy news reports, Pope Francis acknowledged a mass murderer of children by saying 'whatever' and praised her as 'a big one in today's Italy'.

She's a big one all right.

And he's a bigger one.

In a February 8 interview with one of Italy’s most prominent dailies, Corriere Della Serra, Pope Francis praised Italy’s leading proponent of abortion – Emma Bonino -- as one of the nation’s “forgotten greats,” comparing her to great historical figures such as Konrad Adenauer and Robert Schuman. Knowing that his praise of her may be controversial, the Pope said that she offered the best advice to Italy on learning about Africa, and admitted she thinks differently from us. “True, but never mind,” he said. “We have to look at people, at what they do.”

..and here's a taste of what Pope Francis is gushing over:

At 27, Bonino had an illegal abortion and then worked with the Information Centre on Sterilization and Abortion which boasted over 10,000 abortions. There are famous photos of Bonino performing illegal abortions using a homemade device operated by a bicycle pump. Arrested for the then-illegal activity she spent a few days in jail and was acquitted and entered politics.

How long can the see of bishops let this go on for before they pull the plug on this shit show?

And now for something completely different.

The Archdiocese of Boston is not exactly known for its expertise in the sanctification of Christ's elect, but every once in a while the wizards in the Chancery will really outdo themselves.

They really put on their thinking caps while putting together a 'spiritual wellness' agenda for Boston priests.

They've booked a 'wellness' trip in June to Duxbury to give lessons on the pagan practice of 'centering prayer'.

Centering Prayer Workshop

One of them is in June 2016 in Duxbury offered by Rev Meninger OCSO on the New Age practice of Centering Prayer. Of course, one of the big problems is that Centering Prayer actually is not a “prayer” and it is not even Christian. It originated with Abbot Thomas Keating at St. Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer, Massachusetts, but its origins are a pagan practice and it’s more like a form of self-hypnosis.

Here's a taste of this dude.

Be sure to check out the trash he's found at his 'center', plastered all over the walls. The false god with all the arms would make a a nice souvenir for the Archbishop.

I braced myself and listened for a minute and four seconds. Unmoved by the prayers and mystical events happening during the Transubstantiation of bread and water into the Body and Blood of Christ, he found his connection in an empty wallet.

What an interesting diversion from helping priests bank Sanctifying Grace.

What's next?

A field trip to Hooters?

Why would any Catholic want to sever its spiritual connection to the Substance inside of a Catholic Tabernacle for the inferiority of what is inside of himself/herself?

Most especially a priest who experiences the spiritual dissolution of his own soul into Christ's every time he offers himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Inquiring minds are just dying to know the author of this reckless ignorance.

And here is the kicker: They charge donors 2500 to sponsor one of these trips to teach him how to ignore the Divinity of Christ and the communion of saints

For 2500 bucks we could fly them to the Phillipines for the Madonna concert.

Who are the trustees of this trust?

The foxes are in the henhouse...

Vice Chairman of the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust Rev. Msgr. Dennis Sheehan

Good grief.

LifeSite News Story on Pope Francis' Contradiction of Humanae Vitae

Pope Francis appears to contradict doctrine on contraception.

He appears all right.

Is there any faithful Catholic apostolate who hasn't yet pinned him to three years of leading Christ's elect into theological error?

Interesting Vortex on a Pope

Popes can be wrong.

This is very, very good, actually, right up until the close when he suggests immoral and corrupt conduct from the Chair of Peter should not be surprising and it should not be spoken about in the public square.

Please.

One other observation - a misunderstanding that is repeated in Christendom, ad nauseum.

Not every word that falls from the lips of a Pope is full of Grace. It's not Catholic to hang on every utterance of the Pope as though it were divinely inspired...Plane interviews have zero magisterial weight - etc.

The raising of concerns isn't a blood sport of blogosphere that needs to cease and desist because what the Pope says isn't changing doctrine.

The damage the Pope is doing is inside of our homes in our family, friends and people we love or care about.

This is about thirty or forty years of catechesis, in the face of bad priests, catechists, and everyone around us telling us, when we try to say, don't move in with your girlfriend, don't use contraception, homosexuals need to practice abstinence, etc., Oh please - Even the Pope said you can do it.

Nobody gives a flying fig about 'THE MEDIA' saying "the pope said we could..", we are apoplectic because that is what we are hearing from the mouths of our children, relatives, friends.

In three years, he has turned the Deposit of Faith into a farce.

He's made it nearly impossible for Catholics to uphold the truth IN OUR FAMILY, WITH OUR CHILDREN, RELATIVES, FRIENDS.

This is a far more serious assault upon our family than the handful of pedophiles let loose.

The chances we are going to let it slide every time the Holy Father opens his mouth and contradicts Church teaching are zero.

Look, a local priest and bishop spoonfeeding Mapplethorpe and Gloria Steinham into our families is 'not changing Church teaching' is it.

What they are doing, is the same thing the Holy Father is doing - he's aimed for 'changing' the moral compass guiding the intellect and soul. The reasons why we speak when the Holy Father is doing it, are the same reasons Church Militant has built an apostolate to speak about when priests and bishops do it.

It's entirely about what the people we love are saying after consuming the koolaid. It's got to be stopped.

I am so glad so many Catholics are speaking out about the latest mortal wound inflicted upon Humanae Vitae.

We are going to get louder.

The errors in theology from the Pope's Plane Interview (and discussions that followed!)

I wanted to briefly mention a few observations of discussions about the Holy Father's latest plane interview.

1. Astoundingly, when Catholics raise concerns about Pope Francis suggestion to women that they can use birth control pills and condoms to prevent perfectly healthy babies from being conceived because of a remote chance of birth defects, I am still seeing Catholics claim the press is misinterpreting what is being said.

I will not cite the dozens of examples, suffice it to say that the Holy Father has accountability for his own words and actions. His contradiction of Humane Vitae was as clear as a bell and Fr. Lombardi confirmed it. It's time to retire the talking points that we have a problem with the media.

2. Several Catholics continue to raise the question as to whether Catholics can raise concerns in the public square about what the Holy Father is saying and doing and not saying and doing.

When in doubt about whether something is consistent with Church teaching, patheos is not the source to turn to for guidance. Run to: a. Catechism. b. Canons; and c. review the history of Saints to see if any of them did it, under what circumstances and how they did it.

Having done the homework, these resources say it is actually a duty of a Baptized Catholic.

People referring to the Holy Father as "bergolio' and other disrespectful names are going about the duty with injuries. Perhaps they watching their children or brothers and sisters being robbed of the tools for salvation, but that neither diminishes the truth of the content or the duty of the Baptized.

We can and should raise the bar on the charity with which it is said - along with now raising the fervor to a decibel level that brings the Romans to their knees. We need to reach out to the CDF. More on this later. I cannot imagine Cardinal Müller letting this confusion stand but I am sure it would take time to think through. Meanwhile, we've got to seek clarification loud and clear.

3. Let's cut to the chase of the content of the theological errors.

First, lets discuss the use of the 'nuns in the Congo'.

Nobody can find any reference that it ever happened.

I presumed the dispensation was about placing the nuns on prophylactic contraceptives. This is peculiar for a number of reasons.

The nuns in the Congo in the 60s are not the only women in history threatened by madmen seizing households and raping women and children. It went on when the Moors invaded Ireland. This always goes on in warzones, particularly when islamic terrorists are the aggressors.

There is no doctrinal reference or guidance that one can use birth control pills to prophylactically prevent pregnancy in a war zone. Logic would have it, if this were an authentic exception, then we would have 2000 years worth of doctrinal references, most especially given to female soldiers who face the daily risk.

Why would the Church not explain this exception in infallible doctrine?

Moreover, why would the Church remain silent about this mysterious exception while women have been and are subject to this daily threat all over the world, in all kinds of circumstances?

Let's for a moment set aside the well-known fact that some birth control pills are abortifacients. It's a big put-aside, I know, because the Pope's preposterous suggestion includes approval of aborting children after conception by using birth control pills that work by preventing implantation after conception in circumstances of rape--which is...and I hesitate to use the word but it must be said...heresy.

Several sources are even suggesting that Pope Paul VI's exception granted the nuns the dispensation to use "the morning after pill".

Thankfully, my well-catechized readers will correct me if I am mistaken (and I don't have the time to go out and fetch doctrine), but to the best of my knowledge, the Church does not prohibit the use of a 'morning after pill' so long as there was a zero chance that the woman was anywhere near ovulation--which scientifically translates to preventing ovulation rather than disposing of a child conceived after ovulation. If the woman's cycle was unpredictable or if she is anywhere near the danger zone of ovulation, the Church DOES prohibit the use of the morning after pill.

The idea that a Holy Father, be it Pope Paul VI or Pope Francis, is suggesting an unrestricted use of the morning after pill is incoherent, incomprehensible and indefensible.

4. The more concerning theological error concerns the Pope's approval of the use of condoms and birth control pills when there is a fear of delivering a child with a birth defect.

What messages does that give to handicapped? The Pope believes they are unworthy of life? The Church's 'mercy' involves flushing them down a toilet? I'm having trouble drawing another conclusion, so please. enlighten this poor soul.

And again, if the authentic teachings of the Church are mothers over 35 can use condoms, birth control pills and abortifacients due to the threat of a genetic mutation of her egg, this is nowhere to be found.

I think we all know the reason the Church has been silent on these whoppers.

One final observation to those continuously harping on the raising concerns about theological errors is an insult to the Holy Father.

This is not about the Holy Father because the Holy Father is not the only person involved in the vortex.

It is about the salvation of our children and people we love, and it is about Christ and His Church. The Holy Father's feelings do not domineer whether we respond to our baptismal call.

Here is your license:

I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by his coming, and his kingdom: Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables. But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry.

The hour is upon us.

Oh, and one more very important point: The Holy Father seems to reference the Pope Paul VI use of the word 'discernment' in Humanae Vitae as if it meant Catholics are supposed to think about whether or not it's appropriate in their own life to use birth control pills to prevent a pregnancy.

That's an old misleading treachery thrown around for for years wherein the Church has a loophole called 'discernment' that can lead you to break the commandments without leaving mortal sin on the soul.

As if the Deposit of Faith are suggestions that can be overcome with excuses.

According to that myth, all you have to do is use your intellect to talk you into reasons why you should skip Mass, steal that car, hop in the sack with that person, kill that child, bear a false witness against another person.

Discernment as it pertains to Church teaching about the prohibition on the use condoms, birth control pills and other artificial means to prevent a pregnancy is not on the table. Discernment is about the use of abstinence during ovulation as it's a human action that circumvents the plans of God and changes the nature of sex in a marriage.

The Church doesn't grant a loophole called discernment for breaking the sixth commandment with some eye candy.

Discernment is in the form of how to avoid the near occasion of sin.

There's no loophole for taking a pill that prevents conception or implantation of an immortal soul created by God.

The content of theology in the latest plane interview was way, way out there. Way out with Pluto.

UPDATE: Our theologically impeccable and trustworthy Fr. Z confirms: the nuns in the congo is not an urban legend, it's a lie.

He brings another very wise observation: Why would the Holy See grant an exception to nuns but tell lay women they must bear the child?

The Romans are not going to wash their hands of this mess. You'll be hearing from us fellas! More on this later.

This is how a Catholic Funeral Mass is Celebrated.

For those of us who missed it, I'm linking to Justice Antonin Scalia's funeral Mass for viewing when we have an hour to sit and watch.

Jaw dropping example of a practicing Catholic who gave his life to serve Christ's people, Church and his beloved country -- right to the end.

Keep your kleenex handy.

This is a great article on the salutary corrective nature of the Funeral Mass. A must read for TTC readers.

A great gift awaits.

The Holy Sacrifice begins about 45 minutes into the video and is well worth making the time to watch.

If you are really pressed for time, the readings and homily start about 52 minutes--a magnificent representation of the fiat of a Catholic.
At the very least, go to 1:46 in the video to taste and see the goodness of Our Divine Lord.

Jesus, my Lord, my God, my all!
How can I love Thee as I ought?
And how revere this wondrous gift,
So far surpassing hope or thought?

Sweet Sacrament, we Thee adore!
Oh, make us love Thee more and more.

Had I but Mary's sinless heart
With which to love Thee, dearest King,
Oh, with what ever fervent praise,
Thy goodness, Jesus, would I sing!

Thy Body, Soul and Godhead, all!
O mystery of love divine!
I cannot compass all I have,
For all Thou hast and art is mine!

4. Sound, then, His praises higher still,
And come, ye angels, to our aid;
For this is God, the very God
Who hath both men and angels made!

That's it. Watching everything imploding and being destroyed around us, this is our witness.

Breaking News: Fr. Lombardi confirms Pope Francis said Humanae Vitae can be used as toilet paper.

Fr. Lombardi (when is he 'retiring?!!) affirmed that Pope Francis was condoning condoms and birth control pills to unburden the world of children with birth defects.

Fr. Lombardi told Vatican Radio today, “The contraceptive or condom, in particular cases of emergency or gravity, could be the object of discernment in a serious case of conscience. This is what the Pope said.”

According to Lombardi, the pope spoke of “the possibility of taking recourse to contraception or condoms in cases of emergency or special situations. He is not saying that this possibility is accepted without discernment, indeed, he said clearly that it can be considered in cases of special urgency.”

He said people can't contradict infallible teaching without thinking about it first, but if you think about it and you come to the conclusion it's an emergency, it's perfectly acceptable to use birth control pills and condoms.

Read the rest of Lombardi's statement and it becomes perfectly clear that this error, deception and malfeasance qualify for a canonical trial, IMHO. This is as bad as it gets.

The CDF needs to point out Pope Francis' theological errors, as soon as possible.

UPDATE:

I've read a few places, like our beloved Fr. Z and Church Militant FB feed that this is somehow meaningless because off the cuff remarks are beyond his authority.

With all due respect, of course catechized people know the Holy Father's statements do not change Church teaching, but he is most certainly brainwashing our children into errors that seriously impair their ability to make choices that lead them to salvation. People who do not know this are uncatechized or faithful who have had the misfortune of encountering malfeasance of a Catholic priest or teacher. They are in our homes, family, community. Making statements like this and then thinking you've fulfilled your baptismal duty in this matter is underwhelming.

Pope Francis Said Politicians Who Support Abortion are Not Christians.

Oh wait no, that's not what he said!

On his way home from Mexico, to his home surrounded by men with steel hats and swords, Pope Francis said Donald Trump is a politicians who supports the sovereignty and security of their countries and consequently he is not a Christian.

Not Christian!

Donald responded:

For a religious leader to question a person's faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian

The slander is almost unbearable.

The Pope owes Donald Trump an apology.

The Pope stood beside the antichrist in our White House and never said a word about the evil Obama has foisted upon the shoulders of his flock and people. Not a word about the fifty-six million babies murdered and the selling of their body parts.

He said absolutely nothing. Zip.

He's had more kumbaya photo-ops with murdering dictators, and acted gaga over their demonic trinkets in front of the cameras, than any pope during my lifetime.

Even when handed a communist necklace, he did not say their conduct proves they are not Christian. Didn't he even put it around his neck?

The Pope also, ever so deceptively, suggested to women that birth control is acceptable because of the "threat" of Zika.

He also, when asked if he approved the use of contraception because of "Zika"

"On the other hand, avoiding pregnancy is not an absolute evil."

The Pope then pointed to a narrow exception to the church's ban on most forms of birth control: His predecessor, Pope Paul VI, allowed African nuns to use contraceptives "in cases of rape," Francis said. He did not explain the circumstances or what forms of birth control were used.

Got it. Because a Pope gave a dispensation to a group of nuns in the Congo who were threatened by animals banging down doors to rape and pillage women, this means Humanae Vitae approves the use of contraception when there's a chance of delivering a child with a birth defect.

Do you realize the far-reaching effects of this perversion of Church teaching?

Let's not kid ourselves. The Holy Father mentioned the dispensation of the nuns in the Congo because that situation involved birth control pills and he relates this use of artificial contraception for use in situations of potential birth defects.

If he wasn't talking about birth control pills, he would not have mentioned the dispensation given to the nuns in the Congo.

He has discovered that the Church says you can't kill a child for potential birth defects but you can use contraception.

If you've delivered a Down's syndrome child, use birth control pills so you don't burden the world with another defective person.

If you've got a problem with your genetics or have an illness that threatens the health of an unborn child, it's ok to use contraception.-

Because of the nuns who used birth control pills in the Congo.

Can somebody please tell me when children with birth defects became disposable trash in Catholic teaching?

Please. Put a sock in it.

Good coverage HERE.

And of course HERE.

This is a good read too. Be sure to check out the wall around the Vatican.

If it's a sin to think the Pope would do the Church a great service if he kept his mouth shut, those of us guilty of that "sin" around the world wouldn't be able to fit in the United States.

Last Rites of the Church

Fr. Z gives an outstanding explanation of this Catholic Sacrament and gives great advice about supplies to have on hand for the living and our homes.

Peculiar Circumstances Around Justice Scalia's Death

Several stories are emerging about suspicious circumstances surrounding Justice Scalia's death.

In a court of law with my hand on a Bible, I'd have to admit murder was the very first thing that entered my mind when I learned of his death, way before anything suspicious was published.

Scalia's death is shocking, and threatening to the Republic and the circumstances around his death are strange. Who sleeps with their hands folded and a pillow over their face -- in pajamas that wrinkle -- and how could a coroner do the forensics necessary to determine cause of death over the phone!

But there are a few things that lead me to suspect there was no foul play.

  • The coroner's statements sound to be like Antonin had some serious health issues and the coroner was going to confer with his personal physician for cause of death on the certificate.

  • Scalia did not raise fools or cowards. If there's a chance there was foul play, we'll be hearing about it from his family.

  • The below sounds to me as if the family knows the cause of death:

"A manager at the El Paso funeral home where Scalia’s body was taken said that his family made it clear they did not want one."(an autopsy)

  • I think a killer would have put the pillow back under his head.

  • And lastly, I don't know of any Democrats who have the testosterone to step foot on a dude ranch.

However, I have absolutely no explanation why police would walk in and find a Supreme Court Justice with a pillow over his head and say 'nothing suspicious going on here!'

But my gut instincts are, the family knew his time here was limited.

I've been reading many of his quotes. His brilliance and sense of humor were lethal to libtard philosophies!

More reading here.

Some of these are priceless.

This sent the politically-correct world apoplectic:

He also stuck to his views equating laws banning sodomy to laws against bestiality and murder. "It's a form of argument that I thought you would have known, which is called the 'reduction to the absurd,'" Scalia said in December while at Princeton University. "If we cannot have moral feelings against homosexuality, can we have it against murder? Can we have it against other things?"

BAM.

I love this one:

Scalia isn't impressed with America's grammar and isn't afraid to show it. The justice bemoaned "the illiterates who communicate with the public" after a flight attendant said "it's required that your luggage is under the seat in front of you" rather than "be under the seat."

and this:

When a law student at University of Wyoming asked Scalia what classes she should take, he said she should skip the "frill classes" like women in justice. "Take the bread and butter courses. Do not take 'law and women,' do not take 'law and poverty,' do not take 'law and anything,'" he said, adding that many professors like to "teach their hobbies."

This is a loss that brings me to my knees.

Intercede for us brother!

The Loss of Antonin Scalia is Ginormous.

God assumed from the beginning that the wise of the world would view Christians as fools … and he has not been disappointed. … If I have brought any message today, it is this: Have the courage to have your wisdom regarded as stupidity. Be fools for Christ. And have the courage to suffer the contempt of the sophisticated world.

I don't even wan't to think about the what-ifs and pray the Republicans follow-through on their promises.

Prayer, prayer, prayer.

Pope tells priests not to judge absolve everyone in year of mercy.

I can't find the link to the article, but I'm not sure why this is controversial in blogosphere.

When you are struggling with a certain sin, it is recommended to use the same priest so he can advise and help you with the struggle and be sure you are not using the Sacrament as a crutch to continue doing whatever it is you're doing. If you are using it as a crutch, the practice is a grave danger to you and at a certain point, the priest has to refuse to absolve. It's very rare that a priest would have to resort to refusing to absolve and I can't think of a situation where it would happen on the first attempt of a penitent to absolve the sin.

In a year of Mercy, there will hopefully be a lot of souls who have strayed and want to return. If they are seeking absolution, there is recognition that the behavior is wrong, their salvation is in peril and they need to fix it -- so the idea is to infuse the soul with Sanctifying Grace. Sanctifying Grace will lead to right judgment and the priest will get them there through the Sacrament of Confession and reception of the Eucharist.

Let us say a priest discovers somebody is shaking up with their lover. The priest explains that he or she has to be celibate until they can move out or Sacramentally marry. A priest can tell whether the person is trying to resolve the situation the next time he comes back and it may take numerous trips to overcome temptation, move out or regularize the situation.

There is no room to remain in a situation that can never be regularized. The only action can be separation. Given we are in a year of mercy and Pope Francis has dispatched 1000 confessors, isn't this an acceptable course of action?

Everything the Pope says and does isn't completely off of the reservation. Why not assist in drawing people to absolution?

"During this Jubilee, the Church will be called even more to heal these wounds, to assuage them with the oil of consolation, to bind them with mercy and cure them with solidarity and vigilant care. Let us not fall into humiliating indifference or a monotonous routine that prevents us from discovering what is new! Let us ward off destructive cynicism! Let us open our eyes and see the misery of the world, the wounds of our brothers and sisters who are denied their dignity, and let us recognize that we are compelled to heed their cry for help!"

Rudy Guliani responds to Beyonce Racist Black Panther Putana Exhibition

A must see.

Video of 18 week old unborn babies.

Beautiful testimony to human life.

Padre Pio is no Winnie the Pooh.

“We can say that Padre Pio was a servant of mercy. He did so full-time, practicing, at times in exhaustion, the apostolate of listening,” the Pope said Feb. 6.

Makes him sound like Winnie the Pooh!

Do the Jesuits make up their own history books?

Padre Pio, the gruff, brisk, prickly priest with zero tolerance for sin, who could read souls and was known to deny improper use of the Sacrament of Confession?

True enough he was "listening", in the SACRAMENT OF CONFESSION. Absolving sin. Up to 19 hours a day!

"By Padre Pio’s explicit wish, women must enter his confessional wearing skirts at least eight inches below the knees. It is forbidden to borrow longer dresses in church and to wear them for the confessional.” Shorts, and short sleeves, even on children, were anathema.

What do you think his thoughts would be about telling priests to wash women's feet on Holy Thursday?

"The sight of so many souls who wish to justify their evil ways pains me, exhausts my brain, and tears at my heart."

"Before reproaching a soul, I suffer it first. But it is not I who act, but He who is in me and above me."

"Sin to confession to sin without repentance is a deception of conscience; in essence a sacrilege."

Among you I am your brother, on the Altar I am your victim, in the confessional I am your judge."

What do you think his thoughts would be on who am I to judge?

Let's pause to contemplate a few accounts of Padre Pio's idea of mercy:

A spiritual son of Padre Pio who lived in Rome omitted out of shame to make his customary small reverence when he passed near to a church in the company of some friends. Suddenly he heard Padre Pio’s voice saying: “Coward!” After a few days he went to San Giovanni Rotondo, where he was reproached by Padre Pio: “Be careful! This time I have only scolded you; next time I will give you a slap.”

A certain man had the reputation of being a good Catholic, admired and esteemed by all who knew him. Actually he was living in sin. He had neglected his wife, and was now compensating for his loneliness by a relationship with another woman. On one occasion he went to confession to Padre Pio. In order to justify himself, he started talking about a "spiritual crisis." But he had not counted on facing an "extraordinary" confessor. Padre Pio stood up at once and shouted, “What spiritual crisis? You are a litterbug! And God is angry with you. Go away!

A lady came from England to have her confession heard by Padre Pio. She went to his confessional but Padre Pio closed the window saying: “I am not available to you.” The woman stayed for several weeks and during this time, daily returned to his confessional and daily was turned away. Finally, Padre Pio consented to hear her confession. She asked the Padre why he made her wait so long to be heard. Padre Pio answered: “And You?” “How long have you made Our Lord wait?” You should wonder how Jesus could welcome you after you committed so many sacrileges. You have delayed your judgment for years, besides sinning against your husband and your mother you have received Holy Communion in mortal sin. The woman was stunned and reformed. She cried when she received absolution. She returned to England a few days later, very happy.

What do you think his thoughts are on 'a god of surprises who wants people to receive communion in a perpetual state of mortal sin'?

Before the mercy comes the kick in the backside. The eviction. The judgment. Leading the soul to repentance and the ABSOLUTION OF SIN in the Sacrament of Confession.

It isn't sappy feelings.

Saint Padre Pio was a powerful mystic with the gift of bilocation, reading souls, levitation and bore the wounds of Christ. He has been standing at the Gates of Paradise since his release from Purgatory until each of his spiritual children have entered.

Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything.”

"I believe in robbing banks in cases when there is no food in the refrigerator."

Many Catholics were surprised to learn that Catholic Jeb Bush joined the chorus of politicians who 'believe in abortion in cases of rape or incest'.

Let us face it: The likelihood that a bishop or priest has explained Humanae Vitae and Evangelicum Vitae to Jeb or any other politician is slim. A bishop would not want to jeopardize his invites to parades and hoity-toity political events. But politicians have very well-catechized Catholic advisers who carefully explain what and why Catholic Church teaching is what it is.

As a woman, I am appalled and frustrated when I hear a Catholic politician (one like Jeb with a good heart) take the position that they believe in killing a baby in certain circumstances. There isn't a dime's worth of difference if we heard him say he believes in robbing banks in cases when there is no food in the refrigerator.

How could he possibly believe that such an egregious crime against God and human life is justifiable?

Would he have the chutzpah to dare to say "I believe in killing the elderly in cases where they impose a burden upon the family"?

To lay the burden and consequences of murdering a child upon the victim of rape is beneath contempt.

It is political expedience and exploitation of women - of the worst possible kind.

Take-aways from the debate:

Take-aways from the debate:

Bush surprisingly won the night. Trump was close behind.

Christie wants to be Trump but he came off like a nasty chump.

Marco's well-memorized repetitious aphorism had the stink of Romney's old political team. Still, his answers on his murky immigration history set aside my reservations on that issue and did well in spite of a couple of good zingers from Chumlie. He has charism, he's likable, he's zealous and has a shtick.

Ben Carson is affable and smart, would be a good vp choice.

I cannot seem to generate any likability towards Cruz no matter how much I try. I hear an angry banshee every time he opens his mouth. The content is good but his delivery is awful. He could beat Hillary but Bernie the hippie would defeat him by a landslide.

Take Cruz's answer on waterboarding. He hesitated, squirmed but did finally explain that squirting water on a terrorist to save lives of thousands does not legally meet the definition of torture. Content was good but delivery did not have the confidence or courage of his own convictions. He was hesitant, squirmy, almost wimpy. The content was Popeye but took on the appearance of Olive Oil.

Voters horrified by eight years of Barack Hussein would be attracted to Donald Trump's answer. I'd bring back waterboarding and worse than waterboarding.

If we want to torture terrorists, we should force them to read Mark Shea's political and theological analyses, but I digress.

Francis To Visit Kansas To Commemorate 26th Anniversary Of Pope Michael Election To Papacy

This parody of Pope Francis celebration of Martin Luther's march from Sanctifying Grace and salvation really puts the asshatery into perspective.

Celebrating an anniversary of a false pope is exactly the same as the caccalallies of his Martin Luther happy anniversary celebration.

Saint Padre Pio, help us!

A great way to start your day.

Captain Planet's New Video

I'm sure you've all watched this by now.

In charity, I will simply say it's as nutty as gets.

I watched the child darting in and out of the waves and thought to myself, he's recruited the German bishops to march this child into heresy while yapping about her survival depending upon planting and watering flowers.

Good Grief

There is something terribly wrong with a seminary who couldn't see a problem with this sick individual.

Where did he think he was going to store the baby at the seminary?

How could his twisted mind escape the scrutiny of sharp staff and peers at Franciscan University?

Screwball is written all over him. There had to be red flags in his relationships.

Kinda scary.
